Coffey's content process

All content starts with understanding your goals.

Custom content (for publications)

Discovery/goal setting

  • The Coffey team meets with your team.
  • On the agenda: discussion of goals and key objectives, what service lines are identified for growth (hospitals), or what areas of member communication need additional depth (health plan).

Editorial planning

  • Our editors collaborate with your team of subject matter experts, doctors or patients who will contribute to the content and start scheduling interviews. Release forms for patient stories are sent to you from your Coffey editor.

Interviews and writing

  • Custom content topics are researched, and interviews are conducted.
  • Articles or infographics are written and checked for quality assurance.
  • Custom content is sent to you for one round of edits, where you can indicate edits, and a final review for you to approve.

Content is ready!

  • Content is ready to meet up with your publication as it begins production.

Coffey content libraries

Coffey's licensed library content

  • Coffey's editors are experts regarding industry trends and client needs. They plan upcoming library articles looking to meet your needs and goals.
  • Content is assigned to Coffey writers, who have healthcare as a core skill.
  • Articles are researched using primary sources.
  • Following writing, each article is then fact-checked and edited and goes through additional quality assurance before becoming available for publications.

This same process is used for digital health library content, including the daily content that is updated on client websites, as well as interactives, quizzes, assessments and calculators.

Website service line content

Content audit

  • At the beginning of a website redesign, we recommend an audit of your current content, which includes a content inventory, identification of redundant pages, a re-imagined site map and data to support content decisions for your new website.
  • This process can take place whether Coffey is going to redesign your website concurrent with the content audit or a website redesign is not in your current plans or budget.

Content creation

  • As a part of the content audit, we'll identify pages that would benefit from being rewritten. We'll conduct keyword research; interview subject matter experts for your service lines; and write content that will tell the story of your organization, optimized for search.

Content analysis

  • For clients for whom we've conducted audits and content generation, the Coffey digital content team reports quarterly on the success of the content and recommends areas of improvement to continue optimizing the website.
