4 reasons to care about Google Business Profiles

Search for your healthcare organization on Google or in Google Maps, and you'll see a featured result that includes photos, contact information and reviews. This featured result is your Google Business Profile.

If you haven't claimed, verified and optimized all your Google Business Profiles, here are four reasons why you should.

  1. You may have profiles that you don't know about. If your organization has numerous locations and services, it may have dozens of profiles that Google has created. To find your profiles, search Google and Google Maps. You can also use business.google.com/create to search for profiles or to create a new one.
  2. Your business information may be incorrect. Coffey's team has found many instances where contact information—or even a client's name—was wrong. By claiming your profiles, you'll be able to accept or reject updates.
  3. Consumers use your business profiles to leave reviews and ask questions. If you haven't claimed your profiles, you won't be notified when someone engages with you on Google—and you won't be able to offer an official response.
  4. You can use your profile as a communication tool. You can add photos and links, update contact information, and include news from your organization.
