Target the right people. According to the SBA, 54% of consumers will discuss mail from a brand they've heard of before, even if they've never used the brand. You want your print piece to reach people who have heard of you.
Design for your target. If your mailer is for millennials, style it like an Instagram post—with brief text, a streamlined layout and outstanding photography. Looks matter: One study found that one quarter of adults ages 25 to 34 say they open direct mail because of the print and image quality.
Create landing pages for mailers. According to the SBA, 75% of people who make purchasing or other decisions based on direct mail also go online for more information. Make it easy for them to find this info online. Add a QR code that directs to a unique landing page so you can track responses. Make it possible for users to reach a quiz page or event registration form in one click or less.
